  1. Use wine cases for glassware.
Wine cases are segmented and a perfect solution for packing delicate glassware. Collect them from friends or your local grocery store. Plus, it’s a great excuse to buy a few cases for your move and housewarming party.
  2. Use bread for broken glass.
If, while packing aforementioned delicate glassware, you happen to break a glass and your broom is nowhere to be found in the melee, use a piece of bread to pick up the small shards of glass that shattered everywhere.
  3. Cut triangles in your boxes.
Make two angled slices in the shape of a V on opposite your box near the top before you pack it. Push the flaps in and you’ll have created handles that will make carrying your boxes so much easier.
  4. Organize little bits like screws & bolts.
Use ziplock bags for any screws and bolts that you remove while breaking down furniture. Be sure to label each bag for what it goes with and put all the bags inside your toolbox. This way, you’ll know exactly where to find them when you need them and you’ll have the tools to get the job done.
  5. Pack your toolbox last.
You’ll need items from it while finishing up at the old place, and it will be one of the first things you’ll need off the moving truck upon arrival at the new place.
