As a result of their ongoing efforts to provide new and existing customers with the finest in both service and upscale amenities, The Lock Up, a Chicago based self storage company with over 30 climate controlled storage facilities nationwide, has been honored with recent awards for outstanding business practices and architectural achievement.

For the third consecutive year, The Lock Up Self Storage has been selected for the “2011 Best of Waipahu Award” in the Special Warehousing & Storage category by the U.S. Commerce Association (USCA). The USCA “Best of Local Business” Award Program recognizes outstanding companies throughout the country that have achieved exceptional marketing success while enhancing the positive image of small businesses through service to their customers and community.

“We are genuinely honored for the USCA’s recognition this year,” says Andrea Carnes, Vice President of Operations for The Lock Up Self Storage. “We take our mission to provide ‘the best of the best’ when it comes to self storage very seriously. Receiving an honor like this one really motivates us to find even more ways to bring value to our clients and community.”

The Lock Up Self Storage was also recently presented with the prestigious American Buildings Company (ABC) Excellence in Design Award for their Kapi’olani storage facility in Honolulu. Winners are selected by a panel of impartial judges and are evaluated based on their level of innovation and distinction in design.

“When you think of a storage facility, award winning architecture isn’t usually the first thing that comes to mind,” Carnes says with a laugh. “But as I’ve always said, we consider ourselves to be ‘the Nordstrom’s of our industry’. So, having a building designed to fit that image is right up our alley!”
