How Painting Contractors Can Use Self Storage

Many professional painting companies and contractors are small, family businesses who handle quite a few big jobs. Often times, their offices are barely big enough to hold the office staff and crew, let alone all the equipment and supplies that a painting company needs to do its job. This is where self storage can make perfect sense for a painting contractor.

Painting companies can use self storage facilities as a staging area for big jobs. Climate controlled storage units are great for keeping paint fresh in extreme climates. Some companies even utlize several self storage units in their area to better service different parts of town. Shorter trips means getting the job done faster, which is great for the client and the painting contractor.

Even a smaller 5’x7.5′ storage unit is roomy enough to store paint supplies such as:

  • Paint cans and 5-gallon tubs
  • Rollers, brushes and extension rods
  • Spray painters
  • Ladders and step stools
  • Tarps
  • Tape
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Paint thinner
  • Wood Stains
  • Spackle and wall repair items
  • Standard repair tools

If you run a painting company, consider taking advantage of self storage facilities to help your business run more smoothly.

  1. I am a painting contractor that uses such a setup as described here. I would like to encourage any painting contractor considerig this to go for it. This has kept my business running smothly for a variety of reasons, of course the obvious ones of simply being organized and the ability to have inventory and just as a central hub for the company. The other reason is it helps keep your business life seperate from your home life. You really need to keep your work seperate and away from the house, it good for your mental state of mind and it’s good for your family. Right now we operate as painting contractors in west palm beach, but will soon be relocating to Tampa and will be getting our unit at Lock Up Self Storage.

Good luck to my fellow painting contractors in this tough economy!
