A “Shout Out” to Bob Soudan, Lock Up Co-Founder

Bob Soudan

The Lock Up Self Storage is a family owned business that was founded in 1976 in Glenview, Illinois. We are proud to serve the residents and businesses of Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, and thrilled that we have grown to be able to provide our services to several additional states as well.

The Chicago Tribune recently featured our co-founder, Bob Soudan, in a segment called “Shout Out” that introduces their readers to their fellow community members. Soudan, a long time resident of Glencoe, talked about the moment that led him to begin developing self storage facilities for those in need of extra space here in Illinois, what people store in their units, and what a pleasure it has been to grow the business into the 40 Lock Up locations now operating across the country.

We at The Lock Up are very proud of what Bob Soudan’s efforts have created and we strive to continue to grow in ways that help and support the communities that we have the honor of serving. Whether it’s helping a small business grow by housing extra inventory, a family in the midst of a big move, or by hosting a events such as the “Safe Communities” events in Florida that introduce the local community to the law enforcement that serves them, The Lock Up is dedicated to having a positive impact. Each Lock Up location is a member of our larger family and together we hope to make a difference in people’s lives.
